Holubtsi with Meat & Rice

Can be cooked from frozen or defrosted in the fridge overnight before heating.

On the hob:

Place the cabbage rolls in a saucepan or deep frying pan. Add a little water, tomato sauce or homemade sauce so they can simmer gently without sticking.

For a richer flavour, you can make a light onion and carrot sauté separately, add tomato sauce and a little sour cream or mayonnaise, mix well with water, and pour this sauce over the cabbage rolls.

Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat for 35–45 minutes from frozen, or 20–25 minutes after defrosting, until fully heated through inside.

In the oven:

Place the cabbage rolls in an oven dish and add water, tomato sauce or homemade sauce.

For extra flavour, use a sauce made with onion and carrot sauté, tomato sauce and a little sour cream or mayonnaise.

Cover with foil and heat at 180°C for 35–45 minutes from frozen, or 20–25 minutes after defrosting, until fully heated through inside.

Important:

This product contains cooked meat and must be fully heated through inside before serving.

Keep frozen at -18°C or below.

Do not refreeze after defrosting.

Once defrosted, keep refrigerated and use within 24 hours.
